On May 26, 2011 the CPSC and eight pool and spa drain cover manufacturers issued a voluntary recall affecting over one million covers manufactured in the United States. Pool and spa drain covers manufactured by A&A Manufacturing, AquaStar Pool Products Inc., Color Match Pool Fittings, Custom Molded Products, Hayward Pool Products, Pentair Water Pool and Spa, Rising Dragon USA, and Waterway Plastics. Issues concerning the testing and certification of these products to reduce body entrapment have been cited.
